Application Procedure PDF Print E-mail

The application process is designed to provide sufficient knowledge of the applicant to enable the Admissions Committee to determine if the Nairobi International School of Theology will meet his or her needs.  Therefore, all prospective degree and diploma students are required to complete the application process in full.  To allow for adequate planning and preparation it is recommended that prospective students send in fully completed application forms at least one year before they intend to begin their studies.  Completed applications forms are however accepted throughout the academic year.  Application materials may be obtained by writing to the Registrar's Office.

In addition to completing the application the applicant will provide the following items:

1.  A non-refundable application fee (See the fee schedule in chapter three on finances).

2.  A recent 5 cm x 5 cm photograph (head and shoulders).

3.  Four personal references.

4. Personal biographical information, including Christian experience, ministry experience, family history and other pertinent information.

5.  For married applicants, a spouse's supplement and statement of Christian experience

6.  Transcripts from all previous Secondary and post-Secondary schools.

7. A doctrinal survey to determine the applicant's past exposure to doctrinal preaching and teaching.

8. The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) (or alternatively, the British Council Exam) will be required for applicants who did not do their previous education in English and may be required if the applicant's ability in English is in doubt.  A minimum score of 500 on the TOEFL will be required for admission.

All applicants will be notified when the complete set of materials has been received.  They will be informed of the status of their applications as soon as possible.  Those who are accepted will also be required to submit a financial sponsorship statement and a recent medical history form before beginning their first semester.
