 BRIGHT LEADERSHIP CENTRE

Purpose

The centre is a constituent local institution of the Nairobi international school of theology (NIST), Nairobi, Kenya. The bright leadership center is named after Dr. Bill bright of campus crusade for Christ (CCC) International, an organization that has grown into over two hundred countries and has about fifty-two different ministries. The Nairobi international school of theology, the umbrella institution of BLC is also a ministry of CCC.

The purpose of the bright leadership center is to provide culturally relevant leadership solutions through research, training and consultancy.

Significance of BLC

There is only a few institutions in Africa conducting research in the area of leadership. Similarly, there are very few institutions offering training in governance and organizational leadership. Therefore, the BLC programs will meet special needs of corporate as well as political leaders.

1.       BLC develops and nurtures new upcoming leaders to give leadership to the organizations and governments in Africa.

2.       BLC acts as a resource center for data collection. Collation, storage and dissemination. The data collected will provide statistics as well as ethnographic information that will various issues critical to leadership decision making.

3.       BLC publishes data collected from research.  The information will help organizations improve the service delivery as well as help in developing culturally relevant materials. In addition, BLC provides a platform for international engagement on leadership issues. This adds value to the center and builds credibility in the field.

Objectives

The BLC seeks to achieve the objectives of NIST. Among other objectives of NIST, the BLC endeavors:

1.       To promote a value based leadership that transforms organizations and societies.

2.       To equip leaders with innovative and problem solving skills.

3.       To promote consultancy services and make recommendations for organizational developments.

4.       To conduct leadership research and a resource data bank for organizations and governments.

5.       To develop culturally relevant leadership resource materials for training.
