HIV PROGRAMMING BEYOND UNIVERSAL ACCESS

The National AIDS Control Council (NACC) through the Kenya HIV and AIDS Research Coordination Mechanism (KARSCOM) has planned for the first National HIV and AIDS Biennial Research Conference from May 18-20, 2011 at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) in Nairobi. This is a key milestone in the implementation of the Kenya National HIV and AIDS Monitoring Evaluation and Research Framework and is meant to provide part of the evidence that will drive implementation of the Kenya National AIDS Strategic Plan 2009/10 to 2012/13 (KNASP III)

The theme of the conference is “HIV PROGRAMMING BEYOND UNIVERSAL ACCESS.” The conference will feature abstract and exhibition driven sessions aligned to sub-themes that are derived from KNASP III Pillars. Plenary sessions will be held between breakaway sessions and at the end to facilitate discussions on major  themes and to further facilitate coming up with consensus on the way forward. In addition, a one day pre-conference symposium focusing on MARPs will precede the conference.
